Daphne Xanthopoulou (she/they) is a digital artist and designer, of Anatolian Greek descent, based in Barcelona.Their work centers on sonic storytelling as a speculative strategy of care, using digital media to mend our fractured sense of kinship with often-overlooked parts of the material world, and their stories.
Their music has been showcased in venues like Cafe Oto and Kraak Festival,whereas their commissioned work has been shown in major festivals such as Sónar, Ars Electronica, and Manifesta.
Their releases on labels like Paralaxe Editions, tssstapes, Exiles, has garnered critical acclaim, with albums praised by The Quietus, A Closer Listen, Bandcamp Daily (2024, 2021). In addition to their sound work, they have published essays, poetry and fiction.
They are currently a PhD candidate at the Full-Body Interaction Lab at the Pompeu Fabra University, exploring the potential of embodied XR in inclusive education.
